We are seeking climbers in our region to raise funds for and represent the Make-A-Wish Foundation^® of Southwestern Ontario on the Summit for Wishes! 

The Summit for Wishes is a fund raising climb of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa, taking place from January 4 to 18, 2011.  Make-A-Wish^® Quebec is organizing the Summit for Wishes, and has graciously invited Southwestern Ontario participants to join the climb and raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southwestern Ontario!  Climbers are asked to pay all of their own expenses related to the trek (e.g. flight, climb cost, park fees, equipment, etc.), so that 100 per cent of the funds they raise directly benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation^®.  Each climber is asked to raise $8000, which is the average cost of a wish.

For the 2011 expedition, the Make-A-Wish Foundation will once again be calling upon the services of Tusker Trail. They have more than 33 years experience with Mount Kilimanjaro. Their professional guides will escort our group in your trek. Their expertise accounts for a success rate of 98 per cent of climbers reaching the summit.  Many routes are available to reach the peak and for that purpose we will be taking the Lemosho, a longer route but one that allows for a better acclimatization to altitude. Make-A-Wish Quebec’s sporting events manager, Mathieu Fleury, will be counseling the climbers in their preparations and their training, and will take part in the expedition with the group.
